All Children are invited to ride the wave of God's love at their summer Vacation Bible School, Beach Part: Surfin' Through the Scriptures.  The fun begins Monday, June 2, 2008 and ends Friday, June 27, 2008 from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM.

This program is a celebration of God's love and a chance for children to learn new Beach Be-Attitudes.  Each lesson will be supported with Bible stories, science activities, songs, crafts, games and snacks.

Help Farmers Earn a Fair Income

The UMCOR Coffee Project is a way to help people in need while enjoying an excellent cup of coffee, tea, cocoa, or chocolate.  As Christians, we can buy products that are fairly traded and support practices that help farmers in Latin America, Africa and Asia earn a fairer share of income.  For this project, UMCOR partners with Equal Exchange.  It is committed to these principles:

bullet

To pay a fair price with a guaranteed minimum, ensuring the farmers a fair return for their labors.

bullet

To work with cooperatives that are owned and governed by the farmers themselves.

bullet

To buy directly from farmers so the benefits of trade go to them and their communities.

bullet

To provide credit that farmers can afford, helping them to break the cycle of debt.

bullet

To encourage ecologically sustainable farming practices such as organic and shade-grown agriculture.

How To Give:

Help fund UMCOR.  Combine immediate food crisis relief with long-term solutions by giving to UMCOR Advance #982920 Hunger/Poverty Program.  Writhe the # and name of the project on the memo line of your check.
